Last fall, we announced the formation of several subcommittees to lay the groundwork for the launch of our industry's first-ever professional trade association, AIHSP. While the enthusiasm of these subcommittees has allowed us to move forward on a number of important initiatives, we have so far been unable to resolve a variety of integral concerns, including the financial viability of our efforts and the long-term sustainability of an organization built on collaboration from such a diverse assortment of participants.
We've made clear from the beginning that we intend to foster an organization that guarantees the long-term prosperity of our industry, and that our organization will be carefully crafted to ensure it makes the best use of the time, money, and energy our constituents hope to invest. At this time, however, we believe we still do not have the necessary preparation needed to launch such an organization, and more work still needs to be done. Dramatic changes to our nation's economy and the subsequent shift of focus in our nation's Capitol have also presented a number of challenges we did not anticipate just a few months ago.
In the coming weeks and months, the Founding Committee will continue to press forward with our efforts and attempt to answer many of these unresolved concerns. We will undoubtedly continue to draw on the support of the Industry, and offer our gratitude in advance. We hope to have a further update on our progress by the middle of February, 2009.
