AIHSP Research Investigatory Subcommittee

The AIHSP Research Investigatory Subcommittee is hereby charged with: (1) determining the paramount research priorities and needs of its hosting and Internet service provider constituents, (2) refining these compelling issues into a prioritized, ordered hierarchy for AIHSP advocacy and lobbying efforts, (3) defining which research data should be culled for in a members-only "State of the Industry" quarterly report for longitudinal tracking and archival purposes, and (4) identifying and maintaining a database of emerging threats to the industry, whether political, economic, technological, or legislative.

The ideal panel member for the AIHSP Research Investigatory Subcommittee will come from either (1) the hosting and Internet service provider industry proper and will have some experience in conducting [or possess access to] formal empirical research explicating the industry and/or (2) will possess specific experience in political lobbying and policy advocacy bearing upon the industry.

This exploratory volunteer panel will convene online on September 22, 2008, and will deliberate over a six week period. The panel will use this time to brainstorm the scope and nature of its charge and arrive at specific deliverable action items for AIHSP to consider in its formation. A Subcommittee Chair will be selected by the AIHSP Founding Committee, and that person will manage, conduct and lead all online and teleconference meetings. A representative of the AIHSP Founding Committee will be present during all discussion, serving in an advisory capacity role at the pleasure of the Subcommittee Chair.
